Winnipeg will have its new expresss bus service Monday.
The express routes will operate from St. James to downtown Winnipeg with signs reading "Express Downtown" In the opposite direction signs will be "Express Portage" and "Express Ness." Express bus stops will be made clear by signs in white on a red background.
The eastbound express buses will observe all regular stops in St. James. They will then operate express to Memorial Blvd. and Portage Ave., stopping only at transfer points at Valour Rd., Arlington St., Maryland St., and Sherbrook St. All stops in the downtown area will be observed as far as James Ave. and Main St.
Outbound buses will observe the same stops in the reverse direction.
"Express Portage" buses will operate all day Monday through Saturday. "Express Ness" buses will operate during rush hours only Monday through Friday and all day Saturday until 6 p.m.
During off-peak hours Ness buses will operate inbound to Polo Park only, permitting passengers to transfer to "Express Downtown" buses or to regular North Main-Mountain buses for local stops. Sunday service on the Portage and Ness routes will remain unchanged.
