Stand up for a communal vision for our city

To the editor:

In today's world a combination of initiative and investment are the necessary components of human progress. Cities where we congregate either grow or wither or languish depending on the strength of our initiative and investment.

Great cities are only possible where there is no only individual initiative and investment but ongoing well-planned, visionary communal investment and initiative. It is communal and public assets that give us an even greater sense of well being. Recently $100,000 (US) was paid to former New York mayor (Rudy Guliani) who told us to clean up our streets. It is a given that we don't need aggressive panhandlers and drug pushers in society. But how do we make Winnipeg a better city? I suggest:

In the next civic election, elect women and men who are committed to a course of action that is visionary.
