I attended the Grey Cup Parade with my two young children. I congratulate the organizers on a job well done. I was extremely disappointed, however, with the transit service following the parade. We waited 50 minutes for a bus which was supposed to come every 25 minutes. I finally gave up and took a different route, which had already come three times in that 50-minute span. I can appreciate schedule delays when there are massive street closures. How is it that two or three of the routes could be re-routed and somewhat on schedule and not others? If the City of Winnipeg wants to increase ridership on public transportation, Transit needs to have the foresight to allow for extra buses leaving downtown after an event that is expected to draw 100,000 people.
