Our Winnipeg Transit would like to have more of us take the bus and leave our vehicles at home. Some reasons would be the environment and having less vehicles on the road would lessen the traffic jams.
The amount of people taking buses is down considerably compared to past years as riders complain the cost keeps going up and the service is bad.
I catch the Henderson Express at Henderson and McLeod with up to eight to 14 other riders. Now that our bus is gone, we get onto a later bus that is already full and we have to stand in the aisle squeezed in like sardines. They remove this bus every year between June and early September and also around Christmas.
I and other riders have complained numerous times to Transit with no positive outcome or explanation. I am hearing more and more complaints and riders saying they are going to start taking their vehicle to work instead.
Why is Transit removing buses that are full to the limit with passengers and we see other buses go by that aren't express buses and only have four or five people in them?
There is no wonder that the amount of people taking the bus in Winnipeg is down and will continue to decline when Transit has no regard to what the riders have to say.
